Brief Description: According to a report by the WHO-UNICEF Lancet Commission, they found that due to ecological degradation, climate change and exploitative marketing practices, the health and future of children are under immediate threat.
Future Implications: It's specifically recommended that a new global movement is driven where there's a stop to CO² emissions, new policies towards children's health & rights are developed, children are given a voice in policy making and national regulation on commercial marketing is tightened.
Overall Impact: This trend creates a resolving scenario between the global threat on children's health and the prevalence in health disparities within these children. Although the drivers mentioned impact children's health globally, children who are in developing countries or part of families of a lower socioeconomic status are affected the most. If global leaders make the commitment to act on these issues and start a new movement, it will not only reduce health disparities but also reduce the overall threat on children's health and future.
